The Children’s Ministry at Pleasant Valley Church of Christ Vision: To partner with, support and equip our families to cultivate spiritual growth in their children so that, in God’s timing, they will become fully devoted disciples of Jesus who will know, love, and follow Him throughout their lives. Philosophy: By impacting and addressing the spiritual and parenting issues of our children and parents here at Pleasant Valley and enhancing our ministry offerings, we will be able to provide the environment that will guide our children to take their place in God’s Big Story. Goals: To provide a Christ-centered/child-centered ministry where teaching is Bible based and creative, and God’s truths are presented in ways that apply to everyday life. To instill in children that Jesus loves and values them as individuals and to help them find in God’s love the resources for daily, spiritual growth. To nurture children in their growing faith in Jesus so that they will be able to make choices based on what they have learned from Him and His Word. To provide a spiritually, emotionally, and physically safe place for all children while in our care. To provide adult volunteers who reflect Christ likeness through their example and demonstration of God’s love through what they say and do. To provide an atmosphere that encourages children to worship and praise God. To encourage children to develop life changing friendships with both adults and children in God’s family, experiencing God’s love through each other. To involve children in the ministry of the whole church. To help children share their faith in Jesus with families and children in the surrounding community, as well as in far away places. To help children identify their God-given gifts so that they can develop them and use them for God’s glory. To teach children how to serve and love others by participating in opportunities to help those in need both locally and cross-culturally. To provide a fun and happy place outside the home for children to come and spend the best hour(s) of their entire week. |
